Neva Shumway Freeman, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully of cancer on Sunday, August 5, 2012. She was born November 22, 1932 in Lindon, Utah to Samuel Douglas and Lucial Shoell Shumway. Neva was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved family and always brightened up when grandchildren and great grandchildren would visit.
She is survived by Lester Ray, her husband of nearly 61 years and their two children: John (Anita) Freeman and Sam (Jolene) Freeman; grandchildren: Shane (Erin), Justin (Elena), Brandon (Haley), Amanda, Heather (Steve) and Colton; she is also survived by her brother: Kay (Linda) Shumway; and sister: Donna Caldwell. Ray and Neva have 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Mary and her two brothers: Ralph and Glade.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Mahogany First Ward Chapel, 408 West 1300 North, Pleasant Grove. Friends and family may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.
