Barbara Ann Kunzler Kelly, 80, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully at home, August 13, 2012. She was born April 6, 1932, in Pleasant View, Utah to David and Lillian Barker Kunzler. She spent most of her youth in Willard, Utah with six brothers and three sisters.
After graduating from Box Elder High School, she attended Weber College where she earned her Associate of Arts degree. She then attended Brigham Young University where she met her eternal companion Robert Coffin Kelly. They were sealed in the Logan Utah temple on November 6, 1952. They started their family in New Mexico, moved to northern California, and later settled in Camarillo, California where they lived for 36 years. In 2002 they moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Barbara loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and her family. She was a perfect example of service to family, neighbors, and all those around her. She overcame many trials in her life, including serious health issues, the loss of a child, and surviving cancer.
She enjoyed art, writing poetry, scrap booking, music, nature, and playing games with her family and friends. She and Robert loved traveling.
Barbara worked as a substitute teacher, lunch aid, and teacher at YMCA. She was always very involved with her children, volunteering in the PTA program, as an art mom, and as a room mother. She also belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Barbara is survived by her children: David (Merril Lyn) of Ontario, CA; Cynthia (Donald) Christensen of Brooklyn, NY; Robert (Kathy) of Anaheim, CA; Katherine, of Columbia, MO; Christopher (Britt) of Houston, TX; Tamara (Jeremy) Gooch of Pampa, TX; 29 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and siblings: Iris Meservy, Joyce Matthews, Earl Kunzler, Velda Kay Boekweg Chipman, Ralph Kunzler, and Rex Kunzler.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and her daughter Susan Grace Kelly, brothers: Rayman, Willard, and Grant.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grove Creek 10th Ward chapel, 495 North 700 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah with a viewing beginning at 12 noon. Interment will be held in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
