Ferl Geneva Moulton Lawson Gratz, 89, of Springville, Utah, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 in American Fork. Ferl was born December 15, 1922 in Fillmore, Utah to Bacil and Eldora Day Moulton. She married Richard W. Lawson in 1944 and together had three children. They were divorced. She married Victor L. Gratz in 1955 and had three children together. Victor passed away in 1995.
Ferl grew up in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1941. She left Utah to live in the Bay Area of California in 1944 and spent the next 51 years there raising her six children. She moved to Ohio in later years to live with her son, Glen. She returned to Utah in 2008.
In Ferl’s later years, she was an active member of the LDS Church. Her family loved her home-cooked meals, especially her Sunday fried chicken.
Ferl is survived by five children: Sandra Montano, Albuquerque, NM; Tom (Roxanne) Lawson, Pleasant Grove; Glen (Debbie) Gratz, Richwood, OH; Dale (Gina) Gratz, Sacramento and Leah (Brian) Podhajsky, Longmont, CO; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and brother, Levere Moulton, Levan, Utah. She was preceded in death her daughter, Nancy L. Doll.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing one hour prior to services.
