Allyn Owen Fosse Obituary (1944 - 2017)

Allyn Owen Fosse passed away peacefully on December 22, 2017, in Cedar Hills, Ut., at the age of 73, following a short illness. He was born on March 29, 1944 in Wenatchee, Washington, to Betty Lorean and Earl John Fosse and is the oldest of three children. Siblings including John Fosse (Linda) and Laura Bisel (Craig). He attended school in Wenatchee where he met his wife, Marie. Upon graduation from high school in 1962, he attended Washington State University graduating with a bachelor's degree in business. He and Marie were married on December 18, 1965 and are the parents of six children. After college he served two years in the U.S. Army, being stationed at Ft. Ord, California, Sinop, Turkey and West Point, N.Y. He held the rank of 1st Lieutenant upon discharge. Following military service he attended graduate school at WSU and received an MBA in marketing. Allyn was employed at VP of marketing for Columbia Lighting in Spokane, Wa., USI Lighting in San Leandro, Ca., and Peerless Lighting in Berkeley, Ca. He served many years in the Young Men's organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a Sunday school teacher, a seminary teacher, Bishop's counselor, Bishop, High Councilman, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Mission President and ordinance worker at the Mt. Timpanogos temple. He was an avid baseball fan and loved dogs. Spending time with his family was his #1 priority. He was an exemplary husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Marie, his children Gretchen Newey (Cory), Kirsten Leonard (Travis), Sarah Moulder (Faxon), Leah Karpowitz (Matthew), Andrew Fosse (Christy) and Christopher Fosse (Ashley), 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His testimony of the Savior was firm and unwavering and he knew that we would all be together again in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father. Although he will be deeply missed, we are grateful for the life he lived and the example he set. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Manila Third Ward Chapel, 3396 North 900 West, Pleasant Grove, Ut. with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery, Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 72.
