Anna Louise Dupree Smith, 80, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on May 1, 2014 after an unexpected illness. She was born November 22, 1933 in Sturgis, Kentucky to Albert Helfin and Alma Beatrice Coker Dupree. She married Maurice C. Smith on February 8, 1951 in Morganfield, Kentucky. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Hawaii LDS Temple.\n\nAnna grew up in the small town of Sturgis, Kentucky. After her marriage, she lived in many places throughout the world during Maurice's military career. After his retirement, they made their home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She worked at Brigham Young University for several years in Food Services and made many life-long friends. Anna was a devoted member of the LDS Church and along with Maurice served a service mission in the LDS Employment Center. She loved her time serving as a worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Anna enjoyed her association, involvement, and travel with her many kind and loving friends. In her last years, she cherished the time spent supporting her children and grandchildren through the many activities and events in their lives.\n\nShe is survived by her four children: Jayne (Jim) Prentice, Haleiwa, HI; Glenna (Bob) Schartmann, Draper; Jeffery Smith, Provo; Gayle (Paul) Olpin, Pleasant Grove and daughter-in-law, Cathy Jo Smith, Sturgis, KY; 10 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; brother, Ellis (Billie) Dupree, Topeka, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice; son, Maurice Jr; infant daughter, Maurica Ann and brothers: Harry and Billy Dupree.\n\nFuneral services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Battlecreek Eighth Ward Chapel, 1255 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services.
