Pleasant Grove, Utah
Barbara Lee Potter Anderson, a devoted servant of Christ and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on April 2, 2026. To know her was to know what steady, unwavering love looked like. She showed up, every single day, for the people she loved and her Savior Jesus Christ.
Born on March 11, 1934, in Monterey, California, to Ellis Duane Potter and Mary Arzella Jamison Potter, Barbara grew up on the sheering trails and the beaches of Seaside, where she fell in love with the ocean and developed a lifelong appreciation for abalone. She was sharp, creative, driven, and both a gifted artist and musician who graduated at the top of her high school class in 1952, before attending Brigham Young University.
It was back in California that she met G. Stanley Anderson, the man who would become her eternal companion. They were married and sealed in the Logan Utah Temple on August 4, 1954. From that day forward, they built something extraordinary together, a family of 14 children and a home that was never just a house.
In 1993, they moved to Stan’s ancestral home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and turned it into exactly what Barbara had a gift for creating: a sanctuary where people felt welcome, fed, and loved.
Barbara’s legacy was her faith and family, and she gave everything she had to both. She was the embodiment of grace, humility, and compassion. She served her Savior with her whole heart, and she loved her family with everything she had. While we mourn her passing, her memory remains a cherished blessing to all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Arzella Potter; her sister Marie and her brother Arnel; her husband, G. Stanley; and her daughter Diane. She is survived by her siblings Eva Jeanne, Ada Gaye, and Jay; her children Pamela, Daryl, April, Tracy, Michael Brian, David, Carol, Alan, Gail, Rachael, Joy, and Glen; and more grandchildren and great-grandchildren than most people can fathom, every one of them better for having known her.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Florence, Barbara’s kindred spirit and truest friend. Your unwavering presence meant the world to her and to all of us.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Fourth Ward Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
