Barbara Glover Heap

–

Pleasant Grove, Utah

Barbara Glover Heap, 69, of Pleasant Grove passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 with all three of her children and their spouses by her side. Barbara was born on March 4, 1945 in Lewiston, UT to Carlos "Maurice" and Mary "LaReita" Allred Glover. She was married to Ralph Gary Heap on July 12, 1962 but later divorced. She dedicated her life to raising her three boys.

Barbara worked as a secretary for the Church Education System in Bend, OR and Orem, UT and retired due to disability when her multiple sclerosis made it too challenging to work. First and foremost, Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was often expressing her love for her children and grandchildren. She would always make time to be with them and would light up when she could hug and kiss them. Nothing mattered more to her than her family.

As a mother, she raised three boys on her own, sacrificing everything she had to provide for them. Throughout her life she faced many physical struggles and always found a way to overcome them. She had a love for reading, singing and writing poetry and had an incredible vocabulary. Her infectious laugh would brighten everyone's day. Through her struggles, she developed a love for the simple things in life, which in the end turned out to be the most important of all: Love for her three boys, love for family and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her brother Robert and both of her parents. She is survived by her three sons: David (Dolly), Surprise, AZ; Daniel (Robert), Portland, OR and John, Orem, UT; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (Boyd) Christensen and Elaine (Morris) Bastian.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove with a viewing from 9 - 9:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery, 1000 East Center Street, Lewiston, Utah at 3:00 p.m.
