Bluette Nelly Schutz Obituary (1916

Bluette Nelly Schutz, our mother, grandmother great grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 98 of causes incident to age at home in South Jordan, Utah on the 4th day of October 2014. Bluette was born June 4, 1916 to Charles Emile Fruttiger and Marie Baumann in La Chaux de Fonds, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. At the age of 23, she married Pierre A. Schutz who preceded her in death over five years ago. The year he passed away, they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage. Bluette gave birth to three sons AndrAC., Claude and Pierre M. The family immigrated to the United States in 1952 and Bluette was proud when she became a citizen of this great land. Bluette became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of twenty. She possessed an angelic character and was a peacemaker. She never gave offense to anyone. She dedicated her life to serving others. Her home was open to all. She was a wonderful mother, a great cook, and meticulous housekeeper. She and her husband adopted two more sons Michel and Jeffrey later in life. Bluette lived the standards of her church and served quietly in many capacities and was instrumental in doing a lot of work in the temples. After her husband retired, she accompanied him on two French speaking proselyting missions the first to the Ivory Coast and the second to Marseille, France. She developed a great love for the people especially those of the Ivory Coast and was loved by them. She is survived by four sons AndrAC. (Tiina), Claude, Pierre (Lorraine), Mike (Terri), 25 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Pierre, a son Jeffrey, her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10 at 11:00 am with a viewing at 9:30 am at the Country Crossing Stake Center 10865 South 3200 West in South Jordan.
