Brenda Allen

Brenda Blackhurst Allen, 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Brenda was born May 22, 1941, in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Rollo B. and Sarah Elizabeth Blackhurst.

She grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1959. She married C. Dwayne Allen in the Salt Lake Temple in November 1961. They made their home and raised their 5 children in American Fork.

Brenda worked for the Utah County Auditor’s office. She loved her family above all else and the babies were always her favorite. She was an avid reader of mystery and romance novels and loved flipping through pages of People magazine, crocheting, and watching Hallmark movies. She enjoyed drinking Coca-Cola and ‘getting a coke with her kids’. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a mission at the Salt Lake City Tabernacle for a number of years.

She is survived by many family members including: her brother Clint (Rhonda) Blackhurst; sister Marcia Peterson; sister-in-law Sandra Blackhurst; her children Dwayne (Deanna) Allen, Pam (Jeff) Eversole, Mark (Tricia) Allen, Jill (Pattie) Allen, Allyson (Brad) Allen; as well as her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollo and Beth Blackhurst; grandson, Wyatt Earl Allen; granddaughter, Amanda Eversole; brothers, Reese Blackhurst and Michael Blackhurst; her sister-in-law, Carol Blackhurst; and her brother-in-law Don Peterson.

We would like to thank her caregivers: Kasey Myloie, hospice nurses Andie and Marrianna and CNA Rosa for their compassionate and loving care.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:00 - 10:45 am prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
