Pleasant Grove, Utah
Our beloved mom Carol Josie Rasmussen, age 87, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, in American Fork, Utah. She was born in Provo, Utah, on March 9, 1937 to Alexander & Erma Josie.
She grew up living in Provo and then Orem. She enjoyed Orem especially growing up and learning how to work on a farm. She would pick fruit, garden, sell milk, eggs and butter. She had her own horse named Elmer. She always said she had the best childhood.
Carol attended Lincoln High School starting 7th grade where she graduated. Carol was active in High School participating as a cheerleader, Tigerett squad, softball, and pep club. Her mom had medical problems most of Carol’s life and passed away her junior year of High School. She learned how take care of a family at that time. She had a brother, two sisters, and a loving dad. Carol’s goal was to be half the woman her mom was. She had many great lifetime friends from high school. Her favorite though was dad, who proposed to mom with a ring on High School graduation night.
Carol and her young family lived in California in the beginning but came back to Utah. She loved Utah and knew there would be no better place to live and raise her family. She was a proud stay at home, mom raising her three children, Rick, Jodie and Kenny. Carol, learning how to take care of a family at an early age was a super mom and a special friend and wife to dad.
She became very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints later in her life. She was able, with dad to serve a mission for the church at Bridgeport, Connecticut. She enjoyed this experience and shared it with others often. She had a never wavering testimony of her love and belief in our savior.
Carol was a good friend to all her neighbors. She always believed to make everything the best it can be. If there was possible contention in the room, she could always calm the situation down. She always gave unconditional love. Her witty sense of humor would always give you a smile. She would be so excited every Christmas eve to hand out all children, grandchildren and great grandchildren a special gift. At her passing we feel a void, but we are so excited to see and be with her again.
She is survived by her children: Rick (Cindy) Rasmussen, Jodie (Chris) Olsen, Ken (Lisa) Rasmussen, twelve (12) grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mom Erma Hadlock Josie, dad Alexander Josie, grandchild Brandy Rasmussen, and her best friend and husband Myron Clair Rasmussen.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah, where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 am prior to the services.
