Carol Steffensen Tvedtnes, 81, passed away on April 16, 2023 in Lindon, Utah from complications due to Cerebrovascular disease.\n\nBorn April 29, 1941 in Inglewood, California to Wesley Lamar Steffensen and Rea Ann Cram.\n\nCarol married John Tvedtnes, the love of her life, on November 26, 1986. She first saw John when he was singing in the ward choir. It was love at first sight. Carol introduced herself to John that very day. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They shared 32 beautiful years of life together.\n\nShe was a kind, sweet person full of love for all of God’s children and all his creatures. Her siblings often commented that she was an angel and not of this world. Carol sang and fed all the animals wherever she lived, and oddly they seemed to respond to her, probably to the dismay of her neighbors. She loved people and serving them and lifted the spirits of those whom she came in contact with.\n\nCarol worked for many years at UCLA as a secretary. After moving to Salt Lake City in 1975, she worked for 8 years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the missionary department. For 2 ½ years she worked for Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone as his secretary, which was one of the greatest experiences of her life.\n\nCarol always wanted a large family but was unable to have children of her own. She enjoyed being part of John’s family with his 6 children and their extended families.\n\nCarol was a spiritual giant. She loved the gospel and reading the scriptures which strengthened her throughout her life. John and Carol visited many temples in the United States.\n\nCarol and John lived in Utah and Bella Vista, Arkansas for many years and dearly loved their neighbors and friends. They were her family.\n\nCarol will be dearly missed by those she left behind. Siblings: Sonia (Earle) Hollingshead, Linda (Tom) Ross, Nancy (Jarold) Simons, Scott (Marilyn) Steffensen, Chris (Melanie) Steffensen, Kathy Colovos. John’s children: David Tvedtnes, Philip Tvedtnes, Eric (Amy) Tvedtnes, Linda (Craig) Adams, Michael (Jana) Tvedtnes, Michelle (Stewart) Anderson, 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.\n\nA special thanks for the wonderful care of the staff at Spring Gardens and Inspiration Hospice and Home Health.\n\nFamily and friends are invited to attend a funeral for Carol Friday evening, April 28, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove with a viewing from 6:00 - 6:45 pm prior to services.
