Carolyn Esplin Burk, 67, of Orem passed away peacefully May 19, 2014 at her home. She was born January 31, 1947 in Ogden to Grant "Mix" and Vilda Bowman Esplin. She married Brian Broadbent and together raised six children.\n\nCarolyn grew up in Beaver, Utah and attended schools there. She enjoyed helping on her family's cattle ranch on North Fork. She worked at Zion National Park and actively participated in the 4H program cooking, sewing and raising sheep. She attended College of Southern Utah and later BYU where she received a degree in Clothing and Textiles. Carolyn enjoyed the outdoors and was passionate about shopping and decorating. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. In recent years, Carolyn has made jalapeno jelly under the brand Cally's Jelly and sold her product at farmers markets throughout Utah.\n\nShe is survived by six children: Geoff Broadbent, Joel Broadbent, Sarah Broadbent-Manago, Abe Broadbent, Charlie Broadbent and Eli Broadbent; eight grandchildren and sister, MaryAnn Petersen.\n\nFuneral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Orem Suncrest First Ward Chapel, 190 North 800 West, Orem where family and friends may attend a viewing one hour prior to services.
