Clarice Jean Sykes, 85 of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family. She was born October 27, 1930 in Lehi, Utah to Thomas and Ethel Gray. She married Andrew Paul Sykes on August 2, 1951. She attended school in Lehi where she graduated in 1949. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also worked at the Mount Timpanogos Temple for many years. She worked at American Fork Hospital until she retired in 1996.\n\nShe loved family traditions. She loved spending time with her family. They were the light of her life. She loved to crochet and has made blankets for many. She loved to tie quilts with her sister-in-law Dorothy and sister Carma and also loved making dolls. She was always one to serve many and has been a great example in our lives.\n\nClarice is survived by her sister Carma Linstrom, her children: Jean Sykes, Carole Robinson, Kevin Sykes and Larry (Joyce) Sykes and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Paul Sykes; son, Andrew Jay Sykes; parents, Thomas and Ethel Gray, her siblings: Harold, Owen and Verla.\n\nFuneral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Grove Creek Fourth Ward Chapel, 942 North 500 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
