Dora Ann Montgomerey Obituary (2022)

Dora Ann Graham Montgomery loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022, in America Fork, Utah. Dora was born on January 13, 1925, to Bessie Ivie Graham and Albert Graham in Heber, Utah. She graduated from Wasatch High School. She married her sweetheart, Victor Ray Montgomery, on February 1,1945, in Heber, Utah, and later solemnized in the Provo Temple. Dora and Vic spent their early years traveling in the service. After World War II, they made their home on a small farm in American Fork UT, until they settled in Lindon UT, where they raised their family and resided for over 68 years. Dora was a frugal homemaker serving wonderful meals, baking, canning, sewing, making soap and gardening, sharing her love for others and the simple things in life. Her love of baking, cooking, and caring for others carried through as she began working in the lunchroom at Lindon Elementary and Pleasant Grove Jr. High. Later she served as the Jr. High secretary until she retired in 1989. Dora was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a pure faith and lived with humble devotion. Dora served callings in Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society, Librarian, Ward Director Name Extraction, temple worker, and visiting teacher. She loved the sisters that she visited. She and her husband Victor served a mission at the Provo Tabernacle. She enjoyed participating with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Lindon Camp, serving as the Secretary and other positions. Survived by her, son Ned Montgomery (La Raine) Pleasant Grove, UT, Daughters: Vickie (Sherman) Bronson American Fork, UT; Cindy (Bob) Prince Roy UT; JoLene (Tom) Stewart Highland, UT; Rosalie (Mark) Hagan Midvale; son-in-law, Earl Bates Wellsville, UT; Sister, Velda Shelton Orem, UT; special friend Shirley Gray (bonus daughter) Lindon, UT and leaves a legacy of 24 Grandchildren, 68 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Dora was preceded in death, by her husband Victor; daughter, Ann Bates; granddaughter Melissa Jo Christensen and great-granddaughter Mckenna Harris. Special thanks to Vickie Bronson (daughter) and Lauren Gervais (granddaughter) for the in-home loving care. Thanks to her hardworking son Ned Montgomery for the upkeep of her home and yard and the wonderful neighbors and friends that watched over her for the last 23 years while living alone. The family wants to thank Bel Aire assisted living and First Choice Home, Health, & Hospice for the excellent help and care they gave our mother for the past 6 months. Special thanks to Bonnie, Rachel, and Ann. A morning viewing will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove.
