Dora Louise Oscarson Hales was reunited with her sweetheart on Sunday, March 12, 2017. After a wonderful 100 years full of love, energy, and hard work she passed away peacefully in her Pleasant Grove home.\n\nGustaf Emil and Louisa Wilhelmina Okerlind Oscarson welcomed their 7th child, Dora, into their family on April 26, 1916. Dora was born in the family home on 200 south in Pleasant Grove. She lived 99 of her 100 years on the same street in Pleasant Grove and dearly loved her home, the street her home is on, the majestic mountains, the beautiful city of Pleasant Grove, and all who came into her life.\n\nIn the summer of 1935, Dora met her soon to be sweetheart, Clifford Clinton Hales. They were married November 6, 1936 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on January 18, 1939. Soon they began to build their own family. Cliff and Dora had 6 wonderful children: Harley, Don, Judy, Mark, Jay, and Steven. Together, Cliff and Dora raised their family in Pleasant Grove.\n\nDora worked hard her entire life. As a young girl, she helped out on the family farm with farm chores. As Dora grew older, she started to help families in the neighborhood with laundry and house cleaning.\n\nShe was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served valiantly in her various church callings including Primary and Nursery teacher, Sunday School, MIA (Young Women), Ward and Stake Relief Society, Ward Librarian, and as a missionary with her sweetheart Cliff in Saint George. She loved for many years being an ordinance worker in the LDS temples. Dora also served as a room mother numerous times for her children's classes, on the PTA board, and as PTA president. Her family always came first and she supported them in all their activities.\n\n\n\nDora was an amazing cook and loved to share with others. She was happiest when she was cooking a large feast for her family, an event, or in the service of others. She loved to have a clean house and most especially a nice yard. As recent as last summer, Dora could be seen out in her yard pulling weeds with a smile on her face.\n\n\n\nDora is preceded in death by her husband Clifford C. Hales, parents Gustaf Emil Oscarson and Lousia Wilhelmina Okerlind Oscarson, siblings Elsa Johanna, John Emil, Florence Wilhelmina, Hilda Marie, George Gustave, Roy Wilhelm, Robert August, Edwin Karl, and Elizabeth May, daughter Judy, grandson Robert Kent, great grandsons Michael Quenn and David Robert Jr., and many other dear family members and friends.
