Dorothy Christensen

Dorothy Wilkinson Christensen, 82, of Pleasant Grove passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born May 31, 1942 in American Fork, Utah to Hyrum and Norma Wilkinson. She married Michael Christensen on February 28, 1964 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dorothy grew up in Fairfield, Utah and graduated from Lehi High School. Dorothy attended BYU where she met Mike. They made their first home in Logan and later moved to California where Mike worked as a Forest Service Ranger/Fire Fighter. She was an amazing cook and fed many firefighters during this time. They later moved back to Utah where they raised their five children in Pleasant Grove.

Dorothy enjoyed her years working for Alpine School District as a Lunchroom Manager/Server and spent most of her years serving at Grovecrest, Hillcrest, and Cedar Ridge Elementary Schools where she took great care to make sure no child went without lunch. After retirement, she volunteered at Cedar Ridge Elementary to read with children and loved every minute of her time there.

She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully as Relief Society President and many other callings.

Her dog Buddy was her best friend and favorite child and enjoyed taking him on long walks.

She is survived by her five children: Scott (Michelle) Christensen, Elk Ridge; Shawna Christensen, Vernal; Stacey Mitchell, American Fork; Suzanne (Vance) Baxter, Genola; Nick (Heather) Christensen, Cedar Hills; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded death by her husband Michael; parents; grandson, Tyler Scott Christensen; son-in-law, David Mitchell; siblings: Jack Wilkinson, Janice Durrant and LeAnn Ellison.

Friends and family may attend a viewing for Dorothy on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00-11:30 am at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Graveside services will be held immediately following the viewing in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
