Dorothy Nelson Nielson, 85, of Pleasant Grove gently and comfortably returned home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 5, 2016. Dorothy was born September 17, 1930 in Winnemucca, NV to Arthur Wilford and Pauline Harston Nelson. She married Doyle Lars Nielson in 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.\n\nDorothy grew up in View, Idaho where she attended school. She worked for many years as an accountant for local businesses and was a devoted member of the LDS Church. She especially enjoyed her calling as a Primary Teacher alongside her husband Doyle. Dorothy loved crocheting afghans and donated much of her work to the Festival of Trees, among many others. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dorothy was selfless, loved others and enjoyed life.\n\nShe is survived by her four sons: Dan (Carol Holindrake), Springfield, OR; David (Connie Smith), Smithfield, RI; Doyle (Julie Anderton), Pleasant Grove and Duane (Angie), Missoula, MT; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Doyle, daughter-in-law, Caroline Holmes and three grandchildren: Stephanie, Curtis and Nathan.\n\nFuneral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Grove Creek Tenth Ward Chapel, 500 North 700 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am prior to services.
