E Jay Cummings, 85, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. E Jay was born September 10, 1930 in Heber City, Utah to H Clay and Ruby Neilson Cummings. He married Faun Dene Danner on April 15, 1949 in Heber City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.\n\nE Jay grew up in Heber and attended schools there. As young man, E Jay worked in the mines in and around Park City and later worked at Geneva Steel. After a time he moved to California with his family and worked in construction in both northern and southern California and later spend time in Baker, Nevada, working on a ranch. For much of his life, E Jay worked in the trucking industry in Pleasant Grove and was an owner operator.\n\nE Jay loved camping with his family. He especially enjoyed his cruise to Alaska with Faun Dene and his siblings. E Jay loved to watch his grandchildren in all the sports they participated and rarely missed a game. E Jay was proud that he could attend the temple before his passing.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Faun Dene of Pleasant Grove; three children: Barbara (Jack) Sheen, Salem; JaDene (Keith) Clarke, Provo and Mike (Kelli) Cummings, Circleville, UT; 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; brother, LaVell (Kathy) Cummings, Grantsville, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Yvonne Miller; brothers: Kyle, Veigh and Melvin Cummings. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Timpanogos Third Ward Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9-10:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.\n\nCondolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
