Fern Thacker Anderson

Fern Thacker Anderson passed away peacefully in her Pleasant Grove home on November 3, 2015. Fern was born May 31, 1925, the oldest daughter to Fay and Thaylia Thacker. After completing her education at LDS Business College, Fern served as an LDS missionary in the Southern States mission. She married Robert Benjamin Anderson in the Salt Lake City Temple on Aug 30, 1949. During their life together, she raised six children and worked hard at various jobs and callings. She was blessed in her later life to serve another LDS mission with her husband in Tennessee. She lived a life filled with service to her family, her church, and her community.

She is survived by five of her six children: Kent, Gary (Karen), Sandy Schut (Fred), Jenett Green (Randy), and Nancy. Her posterity currently includes eighteen grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Leifson and brother Weldon Thacker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Harry and Kent, her sisters Helen, LaPreal and Ella, her middle son Dale (Colleen), her granddaughter Breanna, and her great-granddaughter Evelyn.

An evening viewing will be held from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 14, at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos First Ward Chapel, 332 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
