It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Geraldine Mitchell Fenton, a loved mother, grandmother, teacher, wife, sister, daughter, and steadfast, humanitarian, who left us peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born in Francis, Utah. Geraldine grew up on a dairy farm, where she learned the value of hard work, compassion, and community. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for the land and the people who cultivate it.

A proud graduate of Utah State College, Geraldine pursued her passion for education and became a dedicated favorite elementary school teacher. She inspired, countless young minds, and taught hundreds of children how to read.

Beyond her professional life, Geraldine was a devoted wife to Robert Fenton. The love of her life. She was a loving mother to Richard Fenton, Julie Kopp and Pam Hansen. She was an All-Star grandmother to her wonderful grandchildren, Randy Hansen, Mike Hansen, Megan Kopp, and Austin Kopp. Most of her days were spent with her grandchildren who loved her very much and lived next-door to her. They would stop by numerous times each day. She always took them places had fun activities. She loved and taught them so much. They brought her immense joy. She spent countless hours shaping their lives with wisdom and love.

In her retirement, she became a tireless advocate for those in need. Each day she would visit the mailbox to collect numerous requests for donations. She read each and everyone. She dedicated her afternoons to writing checks for various charities. Her compassion knew no bounds as she championed causes supporting humanity. She supported the poor, the immigrants, the minorities, and the LGBTQ+ communities.

Geraldine was proceeded in death by her older sister Mavis Venn, younger sister Jeanette Keyes, and husband Robert Fenton. She is survived by her children Richard Fenton, Julie Kopp, Pam Hansen, and her grandchildren, Randy Hansen Michael Hansen, Megan Kopp, and Austin Kopp.

True to her humble spirit, Geraldine asked in her pre-written memorial guide, that no funeral will be held. Her family invites you to remember her in your own way with kindness and love.

Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and support for those less fortunate will continue to inspire to bring humanity together with love and not break us apart with bigotry and hate.
