Pleasant Grove, Utah
After gracefully enduring to the end, Geraldine Adamson Peay, of Lindon was reunited with her sweetheart, Wayne, on Friday, September 20.
Geri was born on July 6, 1932 to Newell Dewey and Margaret Graham Adamson. She was the fifth of six children, with two sisters, Jean and Maxine, and 3 brothers, Dewey (Dub), Robert and Kay.
She was raised in Pleasant Grove and while attending high school she met and fell in love with a handsome young man named Wayne. Upon graduating from Pleasant Grove High School they were married on September 27, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Geri and Wayne were blessed with three children, Cheri, Connie and Kevin. She was the proud grandmother of 10 and the great grandmother of 32. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren adored her and she likewise adored them.
Geri worked at Deseret Bank in Pleasant Grove for 25 years. Upon retiring, her and Wayne joined the Good Sam’s Club where they traveled with their new found friends, who turned into life long friends.
Geri was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong love of the Gospel and missionary work. Along side Wayne she served several missions in Winter Quarters, Cove Fort and 9 years at the Bishops Storehouse.
Geri didn’t like to stay home. Whether it was going to the movie with her dear friends, playing pokeno every Friday at the senior center, camping with her family (which was how she wanted to celebrate her 90th birthday), or just driving to Arby’s to get a roast beef sandwich, she was always on the go.
When she was home she loved to watch the Jazz and BYU games, watch movies, or get on “Find my Friends” to see where her kids and grandkids were. She loved to know what everyone was up to.
Geri was preceded in death by her sweetheart Wayne: her brothers, Robert and Dub Adamson; sisters, Jean Oler and Maxine Sadler; and Wayne’s brother and sister, Don Peay and Doris Anderson
Geri is survived by her three children: Cheri Hansen, Lindon; Connie (Mike) Marchbanks, Lindon; and Kevin (Cindy) Peay, Centerville; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Kay Adamson; sister in law, Lynne Adamson; brothers in law, Rodger, Marvin, and Jaren Peay; and her sister in law, Sharron Peay.
