Our dear father, Harvey W. Heiniger, (85) of American Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2023.\n\nHarvey was born June 30, 1938 in Orangeville, Utah as the first-born son of Walter Edward Heiniger and Jane Ella Miles. He was the oldest of 11 children. He attended schools in Emery County and graduated from South Emery High School in 1957. After High School, he enlisted in the Army in 1958 and was honorable discharged in 1963. While serving in the Army, he learned the trade of butcher and this was his career from that point forward. He worked as a meatcutter for many years for Safeway and ended his career working at the commissary at Hill Air Force Base.\n\nHarvey married Carla Rae Allen in 1962 and that marriage resulted in 5 daughters. They divorced in 1981.\n\nHarvey married Mary Lee Judd in 1982 and they were happily married for 38 years until her untimely death in December 2020.\n\nHarvey was a devoted family man and loved his many children. His favorite times were spend surrounded by his family. He was an avid Broncos, BYU and Jazz fan and enjoyed watching games and attending in person.\n\nAfter Mary passed, Harvey enjoyed sitting out in front his house chatting with his neighborhood buddies, Jerry and Bill. He was a good friend to many and was surrounded by kind and loving neighbors and ward members.\n\nHarvey was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings in the church.\n\nHarvey was preceded in death by his wife Mary and is survived by children, Gina Juchau (Jeff), Madelyn Radeke (Jeff), Susan Crofts (Kelly), Sandra Nell (James) and Christine Killian (deceased), David Vasquez, Kenny Vasquez, Mary Alice Vasquez, Carol Houston (Kevin), Lori Mills (Ben), Brandi Maynard, Paul Maynard (Jamie), and Brooke McCafferty (Mike).\n\nHe loved to have his 37 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren come to visit.\n\nHarvey is survived by his sisters, Grace, Pauline and Hazel and his brothers, Garth and Ross. Preceded in death by his parent, his beloved grandparents, Samuel and Ella Miles and siblings, Betty, George, Wanda, Edward, and Joyce.\n\nAn evening viewing will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the American Fork 14th Ward, 396 North 1100 East, American Fork. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 am in the American Fork 14th Ward Chapel, 396 North 1100 East, American Fork, Utah where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 - 10:45 am prior to the service.
