Heinz O. Leonhardt Obituary (1929

Heinz O. Leonhardt, 85, of Pleasant Grove passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home. Heinz was born June 5, 1929 in American Fork to Walter and Martha Leonhardt. He married Lola Terry on December 15, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Heinz grew up in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School in 1947. He worked at the Utah State Training School for 37 years and retired as a Maintenance Supervisor. Heinz loved being in his garden and enjoyed all the outdoors had to offer. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully many callings. Heinz was a dedicated Scout Leader and was registered with BSA for 57 years. He and Lola served an LDS Mission in Nauvoo in 1988-89. They enjoyed time together working in both the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples. He is survived by his wife Lola; two children: Paul (Judy) Leonhardt, Garland, UT and Mary (Marlin) Smith, American Fork; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Smith and Helen Lundberg. Heinz was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy and brother, Paul. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.
