Helen R Walker, 91, of Lindon passed away peacefully Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home. Helen was born March 1, 1923 in Garfield, Utah to Frank and Edna Allen Robinson. She married Henson S. Walker on July 21, 1943 in the Logan Temple. Henson passed away in 1963. She married Virgil Walker in August of 1973. Virgil passed away in 1995.\n\nHelen grew up in American Fork and later moved to Pleasant Grove where she graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1941. She served as student body Vice President and participated with the dance performing team. After Henson's death, Helen enrolled at BYU and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She taught briefly at Windsor Elementary School and later for many years at Bonneville Elementary School in Orem. Helen especially enjoyed teaching the first graders as they were learning to read. School did not end with summer vacation, she created a school at her home for her grandchildren and loved teaching them to read. She served faithfully in many church callings and had a true knowledge and testimony of the Gospel. Helen was a hard worker and supported her husband on the family farm for many years. She taught her family the value of hard work and seeing things through to the end.\n\nShe is survived by her four children: Jay R (Carol) Walker, Pleasant Grove; Karen (Ron) Wall, Littlefield, AZ; Jimmy Lee (Cynthia) Walker, Pleasant Grove and Scott Allen Walker, Lindon; 16 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and daughter in law, Jeanette Wood Fox, Logandale, NV. She was preceded in death by her two sons: Frank Henson Walker (killed in Vietnam in 1969); infant son, Leonard Dee Walker and granddaughter, Tricia Wall; 2 sisters: Elma Larsen; Fern Maxfield; 3 brothers: Allen Robinson; Bill Robinson; and Glen Robinson.\n\nFuneral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Lindon Seventh Ward Chapel, 731 East Center Street, Lindon. Family and friends may attend a viewing Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
