Ireta Flanders Gurney Obituary (1926

Ireta Flanders Gurney, wife of Donald Gurney, died of respiratory failure March 3, 2014 in Gilbert, Arizona. Born 2 March 1926 to Fredrick Ralph Flanders and Maggie Rolena Ackerman in East Ely, Nevada, the youngest of their two children. Arden, her brother, died as a teen after they moved from Widstoe, Piute County, to Pleasant Grove, Utah. Donald Gurney and Ireta were married 4 Sept 1943 in Pleasant Grove, UT and sealed eternally on 4 Dec 2002 in the Timpanogos Utah Temple. She leaves their 4 children and their spouses: Kent and Carolyn Gurney, Lena Gean Phelps (Bob Phelps deceased), Ron and Karen Gurney and Rick and Jacque Gurney. Her posterity is 12 living grandchildren (Mindy Gean Phelps deceased), 30 living great grandchildren, and 6 living great-great grandchildren (Ryker Myers deceased). A Viewing to be held at Olpin Mortuary, 494 S 300 E, Pleasant Grove, Utah on Tuesday, March 11, 6-8 pm. Funeral to be held Wednesday, March 12 from 11am-12pm in the LDS 12th Ward, Pleasant Grove, UT, 828 S Locust Av, with a viewing at 10-11 am prior to services.
