On October 25, 2025, our sweet, loving, beautiful mother JaLaine Hardman Bezzant passed away next to her eternal sweetheart of almost 51 yrs.
JaLaine was born on January 5, 1954, in Lehi, Utah to Lee Jay and Elaine Hardman. She spent her childhood growing up in Lehi attending Elementary, Jr High and High School all within 5 miles of each other. JaLaine graduated with honors in the class of 72. Afterwards she attended BYU and spent a summer living in Hawaii. While attending college at BYU she met her eternal sweetheart Gary, and they were married in the Provo Temple on November 1, 1974.
JaLaine and Gary were the proud parents of 4 kids who she raised as a stay-at-home mom with cookies, hugs, love, laughter and always advice. She was also a baker, known for her cookies and homemade chicken noodle soup. She also had an incredible talent at crochet where her kids, nieces, nephews, friends and grandkids all received blankets made by nana.
JaLaine had a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She served in many church callings including in Young Women’s as president and Girls Camp Director. Those young ladies she served became our babysitters. She also served as a Den Mother in Cub Scouts for over 15 years. Together with her husband who also served in Scouting callings, they attended the Philmont training camp in New Mexico with their kids for a weeklong getaway.
Gary and JaLaine enjoyed many trips together and with their friends and family to Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, California, Nevada, Oregon, Colorado and Arizona. Depot Bay was her absolute favorite, and many memories were made on every trip. Many of these trips, especially in recent years have focused on following their grandkids to sporting events, dance and music performances.
JaLaine is survived by her sweetheart Gary, her 4 kids Jenni (Aaron Kesler) West Jordan, Gary Jr (Lindsay) Enoch, Heather Taylor (Roy) Payson and Trent (Jenaway) Highland - all in Utah.
