Jeremiah David Ortiz, 24, of Orem passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was born in Garland, TX January 8th, 1993. He joined the US Army after graduating High School and earned the rank of Sargent. While stationed in Germany he was diagnosed with cancer. He fought his cancer with such tremendous courage and optimism, the likes of which we have never seen before. He was a soldier through and through and now he is fighting in God's Army. He is loved and missed by many. Our lives were changed forever by Jeremiah. We saw in him a light that was beyond definition.\n\r\nHe is survived by his mother Susan Ortiz, father Rick Ortiz, sisters Beth Fox, Heather Haynie & Misti Ortiz, Aunt Liz Hester & Uncle Terry Hester, & Grandmas Jo Ann Luke & Helen Adams.\n\r\nMemorial services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Steeplechase LDS Chapel, 1780 North 150 East, Orem, Utah. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Utah National Guard.\n\nCondolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
