John and Joyce Jones Obituary (2020)

John Franklin Jones~ September 29, 1933 - October 4, 2020 Joyce Meredith Jones~ February 7, 1937- October 8, 2020 "The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude. One of the blessings of the gospel is the knowledge that when the curtain of death signals the end of our mortal lives, life will continue on the other side of the veil. There we will be given new opportunities. Not even death can take from us the eternal blessings promised by a loving Heavenly Father." ~ Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin Come What May, and Love it Joyce Meredith Jones, 83, and John Franklin Jones, 87, were inseparable during their 27 years together on this earth. They met later in life, and they became instant friends and steadily fell in love as they got to know each other on a deeper level. It is very fitting that they passed within days of one another with John passing through the veil on Sunday October 4th 2020. John was reunited with his parents, who he loved deeply, Rachel Stevens Jones, and Willard Walker Jones. He was also able to reunite with his sisters Aurelia Betty Jones Heaton, Barbara Lee Jones Shandrew, and meet his brother who passed in infancy Neal Stevens Jones. He was also reunited with his grandson Rudy Arvin Tello. John served honorably in the Armed forces and he loved to talk about his time overseas whenever he got the chance. He loved his country and he was proud to have served in the Army. He also was able to serve diligently in many areas of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held an honorable calling up until January 2020 at the bishop's storehouse. He was loved by every soul he touched and he was always willing to bring others into his family no matter their circumstance. He is survived by many family members his stepdaughter Sherrill Jacklin, His Nephew Joseph B. Shandrew, his niece Alice Rachelle Heaton, Grand Children Brady (Mary) Tello and Brianna Tello, his Great grandchildren Norah and Austin Tello, and great nephew Joseph B. Shandrew III J.R. He was the epitome of Christ like love up until the day he died. John had a deep love for music specifically the piano and Organ. He also played the accordion, which was a real treat for everyone who was able to listen. Whenever he played music he had the biggest smile on his face. He composed many songs through the years and played to those who would listen. His love of music is what made his sweetheart fall in love with him. He was always trying to make others smile with his fun jokes, and loving complements. He could always tell if you were having a hard day and he was always the first to try and make they grey clouds disappear. John was able to wait for Joyce so they could hold hands as they reunite with loved ones from her family as she passed on October 8, 2020, only a short 4 days later. Joyce was able to reunite with many loved ones as she passed through the Veil Her Parents Ruby Mae and Virgil Torn Meredith. She was also reunited with three of her four siblings Beverly Jean (Donald) Allbee, Bertha Mae Meredith, and Paul Virgil (Linda) Meredith. She was also able to reunite with her Grandson Rudy Arvin Tello. Joyce was loved by everyone she met she, she was a sweet woman with a heart of gold dedicated to those who were in her family and chose to be in her life. Joyce had one beautiful daughter from her first Marriage Sherrill Lynn Jacklin who blessed her with three wonderful Grandchildren Brady (Mary) Tello, Rudy Tello, and Brianna Tello. She also had two amazing great grandchildren who she just adored, and talked about constantly to anyone who would listen Norah Grace Tello, and Austin Cole Tello. She was so proud of her little family and took pride in every single achievement throughout their life. A brother and sister-in-law who she looked up to in every way imaginable Melvin and Muriel Meredith also survived her. She treated each one of her siblings' children and grandchildren as her own. She loved her family more than anything and loved seeing them grow and catching up with them at family parties and dinners. Joyce was dedicated daughter of God who served in many areas of the church throughout her life. When her daughter was grown she was able to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in England and this was one of the best times of her life. She was referred to as the mission mama and all who served with her loved her. She loved going to church and with the pandemic, she would always say she missed going and worshiping every Sunday. She attended the temple regularly with her sweetheart and she always came home with new inspiration and a deeper love for her father in heaven. Joyce loved to sing, and she played the violin magnificently in her younger years. She was given a beautiful talent and she loved to share it. She would sing songs that her husband would write, she would participate in choirs whenever she was able, and she instilled this talent and love for music in her daughter and grandchildren as they grew. Joyce was very talented and had many hobbies throughout her life. She painted, cross-stitched, crocheted, wrote poetry, and you could always find her at her table with a crossword puzzle or a word search up until the day she passed. She loved staying busy and creating art. Together they created a life that was dedicated to serving and loving the Lord and their savior Jesus Christ. They lead by example giving of themselves daily. They loved each other deeply through the good and the bad times in their lives. They were patient and spoke kindly to one another through all of their trials. They were best friends, and each other's one true love. They will be missed deeply by many as they enter the eternities hand in hand. Because of the current circumstances surrounding our nation's health and the global pandemic funeral services will not be held at this time. Memorials will be held on a later date to keep those Joyce and John loved safe.
