Joseph Paul Giles, 67, of Pleasant Grove passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. Paul was born August 2, 1947 in Murray, Utah to Forrest and Vivian Myers Giles. He married Linda Hilton on June 15, 1966 in Pleasant Grove. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.\n\nPaul grew up in Bluffdale. The family moved to Pleasant Grove when he was 12 years old. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and was an accomplished athlete in both track and football. He graduated Weber State College with a degree in Psychology. Paul retired from the Utah State Department of Corrections after 18 years of service. He was accomplished master gardener and built and maintained the Orem Owls baseball diamond. Paul was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening throughout his life.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Linda of Pleasant Grove; five children: Deon (Camalee) Giles, Pleasant Grove; Cristal (Jason) Archibald, Stansbury Park; Jenny (Jared) Urrutia, Highland; Glenn Giles, Pleasant Grove and Jessy (Cameron) Larsen, Lindon; 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother, Glenn Giles, Las Vegas and sister, Kathleen Silcox, Preston, ID.\n\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Battlecreek First Ward Chapel, 1250 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a visitation Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services.
