Krahl Thornton

Krahl Eric Thornton was born on 27 February 1968, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on 14 July 2024 at the age of 56, with his mother by his side.

Krahl was born in American Fork Utah to Mary Carrell and Darrell Thornton. Krahl is the oldest of three boys.

Krahl is preceded in death by his father Darrell. He is survived by his mother, Mary, his son, Kade and two brothers, Case (Vickie) niece Elizabeth, nephew Ethan of Eagle Mountain, and Coby Thornton of Salt Lake City.

He lived in Orem until he was nine years old then moved to Pleasant Grove in a beautiful home at the base of Grove Creek where they would hike through Grove Creek Canyon on the western side of Mount Timpanogos up to the top (tin house). He loved to explore the mountains around him. He attended Pleasant Grove High School. He played the saxophone in the marching band. He played electric guitar in a band out of a storage unit in the late 80’s, playing metal band music and such. He would pick up his guitar and start jamming out to whomever would listen. He enjoyed haunted houses and horror movies, if it was dark and scary the more enjoyable it was for him. He also enjoyed going to Lagoon and riding the roller coasters and other intense rides including the house of fear and the fun house. He enjoyed the haunted forest in American Fork. His family went to Disney Land where his favorite ride was the haunted mansion.

Krahl loved all animals, people, reading, music of all kinds & playing guitar. He was very grateful and very appreciative for all the help He and Mary received after his father Darrell’s passing 22 June 2016. He was always mindful of his mom and her needs making sure she was taken care of, even when he was in the hospital with various illnesses and ailments.

Krahl will be missed, loved, and never forgotten.

Services are under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing before the service from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at the Olpin Family Mortuary; 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
