LaRue Giles Clement, 83, of Lindon, Utah passed away on September 12, 2015 at American Fork Hospital from heart failure after a 28-year battle with complications from cancer. LaRue was born June 18, 1932 in Heber City, Utah to Rollan Dayton Giles and Vivian Euphema Allen. She was the 10th of 12 children. She met the love of her life, Carl Savage Clements, at a cafAC. in Provo, Utah. They were married on November 21, 1952 in Heber City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had three sons Michael (Dianna) of Lindon, Carl of Lehi, and Philip (Rachael) of Lindon. She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grand children.\n\nShe worked early in her life at Barbazon's in Provo, and then for a short time worked as a stay at home mom. She again went to work helping to open the new Kmart in Orem where she retired from after 20 years. She later worked for a short time at Wal-Mart in American Fork before quitting to help raise her grandkids and great-grandkids full-time.\n\nLaRue loved playing sports, but most of all softball. She loved camping with her family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many church callings, but her favorite and longest was working in the library. The children of the wards always enjoyed stopping by to get a treat after church from her.\n\nLaRue was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Carl, 5 brothers Clarence Flygare, Elmo Flygare, Russell Giles, Grant Flygare, and Harold Flygare, and three sisters Norma (Flygare) Thacker, Muriel (Giles) Rigby, and Rollynne (Giles) Sommers. She is survived by her brother John Flygare of Orem, sisters Colleen (Giles) Morrison of Salt Lake City and Mary Jean (Giles) Davis of Lehi.\n\nFuneral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with a viewing at 12:30-1:45 pm at the Lindon Central Stake Center Chapel, 56 East 600 North, Lindon. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
