Lenore (Borup) Burkhardt Obituary (1926 - 2017)

Lenore Borup Burkhardt, 91, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. She was born on November 14, 1926 in Boise, Idaho to Charles Burke Borup and Isabel Wray. She married Howard Louis Burkhardt on June 24, 1950, in Boise, Idaho. They were sealed one year later in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple. Lenore grew up in Boise, Idaho and graduated from Boise High School. She worked as a secretary for many different companies. She was proud of the being the first two-way radio operator for the Idaho State Police. She also loved working at the Institute of Religion at Boise State University. She loved to write poetry and roadshows and did beautiful handwork. She had a keen sense of grammar and enjoyed editing high school and college students' papers. She also enjoyed big band music, dancing, and old movies. She has been anxiously awaiting the time she would be reunited with her husband of 63 years. She is survived by her six children Mark (Ann) Burkhardt, Jeff (Liz) Burkhardt, Denise (Duane) Barger, Lenna (Ron) Larson, Kent (Karie) Burkhardt, and Laurie Burkhardt. She had 21 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and daughter-in-law, Karie. A viewing will be held at 10-11 a.m. on December 22, 2017 at the LDS Chapel on 275 E. 10600 S. in Sandy, Utah. There will be a graveside service at the Hermiston Cemetery in Hermiston, Oregon on December 27, 2017 at 12:00 noon. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
