Marcene Kelsey Thacker Obituary (1931

Our beautiful and selfless mother, Marcene Kelsey Thacker passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014. She was born November 7, 1931 in Basalt, Idaho to Earl and Emily Kelsey. The family moved to a farm in Tyhee, Idaho a few miles north of Pocatello where she grew up. Marcene graduated from Pocatello H. S. and received a Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in Secondary Education. She married Lyle Thacker (deceased) on June 22, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 59 years. She was an active member in the LDS Church and served in various capacities. Marcene enjoyed painting, reading, and playing the piano. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children: Karen (Bruno) Marberger, Luanne Holden, Kirk (Debra) Thacker, Mark Thacker; Brett (Rachel) Thacker; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and her sister, Naoma Bullington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and six siblings. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 785 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to services.
