Mark Kemp

–

Pleasant Grove, Utah

Mark Alan Kemp, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and deep connection. He was welcomed into the world on July 2, 1959, by his parents, JoAnn Martin and Donald Kemp, in California, before relocating to Utah with his family in adulthood.

He was proud to have served in the US Army. He loved our country. He was also grateful to have served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Sydney, Australia, mission. There, his faith in Jesus Christ was strengthened, and his love of missionary work began (and it never ended).

Mark shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife, Karen, whose partnership was a steady source of joy, strength, and companionship.

He was a proud and caring father to Josh Kemp, Jared Kemp, Christina (Aaron) Stinson, Brett (Gillian) Kemp, and Carrie (Maria) Stuart. Mark found great happiness in watching his children grow and thrive, always encouraging their individuality and supporting their journeys.

His love only grew deeper with the arrival of his cherished grandchildren: Korbin, Kyson, Konnor, Anela, Landon, Kennedy, Gabrielle, Samuel, Gia, Brooklyn, Harley, Presley, and Lincoln. He embraced his role as a grandfather with playful enthusiasm, creating memories filled with laughter, and warmth.

Mark will be remembered as a man who was playful in spirit, passionate in his pursuits, endlessly curious about the world, and always ready for adventure. Beneath it all was a profound depth—his thoughtful nature and care for others touched those who knew him. While he may no longer be at our table, we know he is joyfully hosting game nights in Spirit.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cheryl Stine. He is survived by his wife, children, stepchildren, numerous grandchildren, his brother Bill, and a wide circle of friends. His presence brought comfort, joy, and inspiration to many. His legacy of kindness and devotion will continue on in the lives of all who loved him.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in the Utah Veterans Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah at 12:00 pm. Family and friends may attend a viewing prior to the service from 10:00-11:15 am at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
