Marvin Gray Taufer Sr., our sweet, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, passed away February 11,2014 at the age of 86 from Alzheimer's. He is greatly loved, and is missed by all.\n\nMarv was born July 3, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George William Taufer, and Mable Alice (Gray) Taufer.\n\nMarv served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy during WWII. Married Jessie Mae Anderson, April 18, 1946. They had five children, later divorced. On March 17, 1967 Marv married the love of his life LaWanna Walker, and her three children, they later had one child together. Marv and LaWanna were sealed in the Manti temple on October 11, 1969 for time and all eternity.\n\nMarv was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served faithfully in several callings throughout his life.\n\nMarv started every day singing "You are my sunshine". He was a member of the National Championship Barbershop Quartet "The Provokers". In his 60's he played slow pitch softball with students at Brigham Young University, winning a national championship. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan. He loved golf, and made a hole in one. He had an infectious sense of humor, and kept everyone laughing.\n\nHe is survived by his wife LaWanna, his Children Marvin Jr. (Paula), Steven (Connie), Janet (Robert), Debra Heaps (Gary), Vickie LeeMaster (Brice), James (Jody), William (Amy), 29 Grandchildren, and 57 Great Grandchildren. Proceeded in death by daughter Connie, and son Coy, two Grandchildren, and one Great Grandchild.\n\nA viewing will be held Monday February 17 at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove - 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 11:00 a.m. at the American Fork 20th Ward chapel, 825 East 500 North, American Fork.
