WATCH LIVE FUNERAL STREAM HERE ( 11:00 A.M. MST) McKay Guy Madsen, age 27, passed away suddenly on the afternoon of January 17th in a tragic automobile accident. As a family we are both saddened and devastated by his death, but we find great peace that his noble spirit lives on in a far better place. McKay was born on February 12, 1993. He was the third child of five born to his parents, Guy and Wendy Madsen. He was blessed to live his entire life in Lindon, Utah where he was loved by many and raised with lots of love from his family, neighbors and community. McKay grew up active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he spent many nights camping with scouts, playing games with his brother Chad and friends while always looking for the next great adventure. He loved and felt honored to live in the Lindon 11th Ward for his entire life. He received his Eagle Scout award, Duty to God Award and learned many important lessons from his leaders and friends. McKay was an excellent athlete and he excelled as a young man in baseball, football, and lacrosse, in addition to being excited about air soft gun wars, night games and BB guns. He especially excelled in Lacrosse and Football where he received All State and All Region Honors. He loved his teammates and coaches and made many fond memories on the field at Pleasant Grove High School. He was a true VIKING!! Following High School, McKay served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Spain Barcelona Mission. This experience brought McKay tremendous joy and he dearly loved the people of Spain. He had a special place in his heart for the wonderful people on the island of Ibiza. He loved them so much, and for the rest of his life he felt their love in return. He counted his mission as one of the highlights of his life. As a family we have wonderful memories with McKay. We will always cherish Lake Powell trips where he considered himself to be a Master Cliff Diver, Hawaii where he loved the sand and the surf, and of course the Magic Kingdom! Our memories will always include his sense of humor, his beautiful smile and his ability to notice all the little things that truly mattered. He will especially be missed by his three nephews, Madsen, Zion and Sonny who he affectionately referred to as "the Fellas". They spent many hours hunting for snakes, playing on the slip n slide and shooting the bad guys. He was an amazing uncle and they knew that he loved them dearly. As his parents we feel honored to have had McKay in our family. He is a beautiful boy and he will be greatly missed more than we could ever express. Be at peace McKay until we meet again. McKay is survived by his parents, Guy and Wendy Madsen, his older sister Abby (Dallas, TX) his older Sister Casey Cancado (Ricky) and the "Fellas, Madsen, Zion and Sonny (Provo, UT) his younger brother Chad (Lindon, UT) and his younger sister Andie Doman (Jordan) Lindon, UT. He is also survived by his Grandfather Rulon Madsen (Lindon, UT) and grandparents Judy Mansfield and Robert Booth of Ogden. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Jeniel Madsen. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 East 100 North, Lindon, UT with a viewing from 9:30 -10:30 am prior to the services. Due to Covid 19 concerns, masks and social distancing are required. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
