Pleasant Grove, Utah
Nathan Embley Jensen was born January 31, 1988 in Sandy, Utah to Jerry and Janet Jensen, a beloved little son. He was the fourth child in his family, which would eventually grow to include his sister and six brothers. Nathan grew up in West Jordan, UT.
Nate loved all things sports. He could answer any sports-related question. He loved football and basketball, but baseball truly won his heart. He played little league baseball and was selected several times to play on an all-star team. He played catcher on the varsity baseball team at Copper Hills High School and continued to play baseball recreationally as an adult.
Nate was an Eagle Scout. He worked diligently and was completely self motivated to achieve that rank.
When Nate was about to begin his senior year of high school, his father was called to preside over the Pennsylvania, Harrisburg Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although difficult for him, Nate supported that call and moved to Pennsylvania with his family. While there he developed many close and lasting friendships, especially among the missionaries, and had the opportunity of teaching with them.
Nate’s dad, Jerry, passed away after a brief illness in 2005 while the family was living and serving in Pennsylvania. This experience greatly impacted Nate, and he continued to mourn and suffer over the death of his father throughout the rest of his life.
After graduating from high school in 2006 from Copper Hills, Nate moved with his family to Pleasant Grove, UT. Nate began working in the HVAC business which would eventually become his career.
Nate was called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was assigned to the Argentina, Mendoza Mission. He loved learning the Spanish language and excelled in his efforts. He loved the people of Argentina and the time that he spent in the service of His Savior, Jesus Christ.
In 2009, Nate met and fell in love with Katelyn Sovine. They were sealed on September 19, 2009 for time and all eternity in the Oquirrh Mountain, Utah temple. Nate and Katelyn had many long struggles bringing children into the world. After 7 years of marriage, Katelyn gave birth to twins, a little daughter Embley Ruth and a son, Hudson Moyle. Those sweet babies lived only momentarily. Finally, the beautiful blessing of Gentry Hope was born in 2017. Precious little Brooke Kate completed their family in 2020. The girls were Nate’s greatest joy and delight.
Nathan continued to work in the HVAC business and through his outstanding work ethic eventually realized the dream of owning his own company, Jensen Heating and Air. He was a charismatic and successful business owner. Some of his dearest friends became employees and associates in his business.
Nathan passed away May 3, 2024.
Nate’s family’s hearts are broken over the death of this beloved and irreplaceable husband, father, son, and brother. Nathan is preceded in death by his children, Embley and Hudson, father, Jerry, nephew, Simon, and grandparents, Moyle & DeOn Jensen and Pat Embley. He is survived by his wife, Katelyn, daughters, Gentry and Brooke, mother, Janet Beck, sister, Alexis (David) Geist, brothers, Andrew (Adrienne), Morgan (Jenna), Austin (Larissa), Daniel (Beth), Caleb (Abbie), and Michael (Andrea), and grandfather, John Embley, as well as many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.
