Rae Thomas Obituary (2022) - Pleasant Grove, Utah

RaeDean Johnson Thomas, 75, of Pleasant Grove passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022. She was born October 13, 1947 in Provo, Utah to Russell and Afton Davis Johnson. She was the oldest of five girls. She grew up in both Orem and Payson, Utah graduating from Payson High School in 1965. She started writing to Vance Thomas who was serving in the Air Force. When he returned, they were married on July 15, 1966. They welcomed their first child Russell in 1967. He was followed by two other children: Dena and Kristopher. They made their home in Orem, Utah. Both Rae and Vance worked at Signetics until they closed in 1992. She later worked at Phone Directories and Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork. Rae loved the outdoors, especially southern Utah. She was very creative and enjoyed crafts, coloring, crocheting, sewing and decorating. She loved to share her talents with her friends and her family that she loved so dearly. She was a life time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many different callings, her favorite being in the Primary. Rae loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent countless hours playing, teaching and sharing her talents. She is survived by her children: Russell (Daphne) and Dena, her grandchildren: Jackson, William, Kamron and Hunter, and her great grandchildren Kai and Freyja. Her sisters: Paula (Sterling), Shari, Jeanni and Pepper (Darrell). She is preceded in death by her husband Vance, son Kristopher and her parents. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 at 12:30 pm in the Orem City Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 11:00 - 12:00 pm in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah prior to the graveside service.
