Ralph Chase, 80, of Pleasant Grove passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014. Ralph was born January 31, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Ferron and Muriel Bennion Chase. He married Karen Isa Farman on June 23, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple.\n\nRalph grew up on the family dairy farm in Rush Valley, Utah. As a boy he loved riding horses and operating tractors on the family farm. The family moved to Shelton, Idaho, then Meridian, Idaho and later to Marsing, Idaho where Ralph completed high school. As a young boy he contracted red measles and scarlet fever at the same time which is believed to have cause Ralph's eye disease which led to his blindness in his later 20's. He graduated from BYU with degrees in Sociology and Special Education. Ralph worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the blind in Colorado and Utah. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served two senior missions with Karen to the Mississippi Jackson Mission and later to the Oklahoma City Mission. Ralph's life was one of service to others despite his handicap. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Karen of Pleasant Grove and six children: Carl (Sylvia) Chase, Elizabethtown, KY; Lynn (Sharlie) Chase, Lindon; Laura (Merrill) Bawden, Pleasant Grove; Brent (Patty) Chase, Pleasant Grove; Kevin (Rebecca) Chase, Lehi; Dean Chase, Seattle, WA; 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; brother, David (Betty) Chase, South Jordan and sister-in-law, Nancy Chase, Glendale, CA.\n\nFuneral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Garden Sixth Ward Chapel, 905 North 500 West, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 at the OIpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and on Friday at the church one hour prior to funeral services.
