Randy Lynn Jensen

–

Pleasant Grove, Utah

Randy Lynn Jensen, age 75, of Lindon, Utah, passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2026, following a two-year battle with cancer. He was born on November 22, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Grant Irvin Jensen and Beverly Joyce Lehman Jensen.

Although born in Utah, Randy spent much of his youth in California. His family eventually settled in Redwood City, where he graduated from Sequoia High School. From a young age, Randy had a strong work ethic and a lifelong love of motorcycles. He enjoyed taking them apart, rebuilding them, and finding ways to make them faster—usually louder as well.

As a young man, Randy served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in areas of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. While serving, he began exchanging letters with Lourdes Maria Camilleri. Through those letters, they came to know and love one another before meeting in person. After Randy returned home, they were married on April 1, 1972, in the Oakland California Temple. Randy chose April Fool’s Day because, as he told Lourdes, he would never forget their anniversary. They shared 54 years of marriage.

Near the end of his life, when Randy was asked about his favorite memory with Lourdes, he replied that what he still enjoyed most was holding her in his arms. She remained his first love and devoted companion throughout their life together.

Randy spent nearly his entire working life in the vacuum and sewing-machine industry. He began working with his father while still young, learning sales and repair work. After holding positions in several locations, including a brief period with Filter Queen in Florida, he returned to Utah County and eventually became the owner and operator of A-1 Vacuum and Sewing.

Randy genuinely loved his work because it gave him the opportunity to meet and help people. He was known for his honesty and generosity. If a customer needed only a simple repair, Randy would often fix it, explain what he had done, and decline to charge them.

Randy was an exceptionally hard worker. There were times when he worked six days a week and stayed late into the night completing repairs, only to return early the next morning. Many of his children had their first jobs working beside him in the family business, where he passed along his knowledge, work ethic, and commitment to treating people honestly.

Randy and Lourdes were blessed with nine children: Jeremiah Aaron Jensen; Kristin Maria Jensen Zufelt and her husband, Bill; Joel Adam Jensen and his wife, Sandy; Jason Amaron Jensen and his wife, Kendra; Maria Lynn Jensen Schramm; Jonathon Andrew Jensen and his wife, Christa; Joseph Allen Jensen and his wife, Bambi; Justin Adrian Jensen and his wife, Brittany; and Joshua Grant Jensen and his wife, Patricia.

Randy loved being a father. When someone once remarked that he had a lot of children, Randy replied that he did not have a lot of children—he had a “private army.” His wife and children were what mattered most to him, and being surrounded by his family was his favorite place to be.

Randy enjoyed motorcycles throughout his life. He also enjoyed woodworking, panning for gold, boating, swimming with his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family will remember his calm and easygoing nature, his sense of humor, his willingness to help others, and the unconditional love he showed them.

Randy’s faith was central to his life. In addition to his missionary service, he taught Primary, served in the Boy Scout program, and faithfully served in other Church responsibilities. He loved attending church and considered the members of his ward part of his extended family. His favorite hymns included “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet” and “God Be with You Till We Meet Again.”

When asked what counsel he wanted to leave his family, Randy said, “Always put the Lord first.” He encouraged his children and grandchildren to remain true and faithful and to hold on to the gospel.

Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Lourdes Maria Jensen; his nine children and their spouses; 35 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother, Bruce Jensen; and his sisters; Majorie Poole and Sue Broadhead.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Grant Irvin Jensen and Beverly Joyce Lehman Jensen; his brother, Ernest “Ernie” Nels Jensen, his twin sisters; Jana Lee Jensen and Joyce Lee Jensen and his grandson, Boston K Jensen, who passed away shortly before his first birthday.

When Randy was asked how he hoped people would remember him, his answer was simple: “I was kind.” He wanted his children to remember that he was honest and his family to know how deeply he loved them. Randy will be remembered as a genuine, hardworking, generous, and kind man whose greatest devotion was to his faith, his wife, and his family.

The Jensen family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for and supported their beloved husband and father, Randy Jensen, throughout his illness and during his final days.
