Raymond Scott Ormond of Pleasant Grove died on August 11, 2023, in his home. He was born on June 21, 1950, in Richfield, Utah, to Raymond Deuel and Hannah Roberts Ormond. \n\nOn September 12, 1969, he married Connie Fae Fordham in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church, primarily residing in the American Fork 17th and Timpanogos 5th Wards. In 1970, he enlisted in the Army and later retired from the Air Force as a Captain after 22 years of service in May 2000.\n\nScott enrolled at BYU in 1974 and graduated in 1977. He commenced his career as an English teacher at Pleasant Grove High School the same year. He remained dedicated to teaching and coaching until his retirement in 2007. Throughout his military service, teaching tenure, and his lifetime, he cherished mentoring and inspiring students and the local community. \n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hannah, and his wife of 51 years, Connie. He is survived by his children—Ramdas (Shanna) Ormond, Wayne (Michelle) Ormond, Madi Ormond, and Raymond (Heather) Ormond—along with 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, and his sisters Lucielle and Charlotte, as well as their families. \n\nSuicide is a terrible tragedy, and veteran suicide is an epidemic.
