Richard August Froehlich was born on October 11, 1936 in Au Sable Forks, New York. He was the oldest child of Henry Anton Froehlich and Margaret Bernice Leclerc Froehlich. Richard died peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2017 at the age of 80 in Lehi, Utah. His widow is Cathryn Ruth Griffith Froehlich. He has two brothers Daniel Froehlich in Arizona and Fredrick Froehlich in New York and one sister, Susanne Froehlich Abbruzzi in North Carolina.\n\nRichard is the father of Jennifer Froehlich (Whattler) in Missouri, Michelle Marie Froehlich (Sciacca) in Germany, and Scott Anthony Froehlich in North Carolina. He has one stepson, Brian Morris Fruit in Highland, Utah. Richard has 15 grandchildren.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his son Michael Anton Froehlich, and his younger brother David Froehlich.\n\nRichard was a twenty year veteran of the United States Air Force and this included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked in government and civilian employment until he retired.\n\nHe is a member of the Lehi 4th ward and has served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.\n\nFuneral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lehi East Stake Center, 1200 East, 900 North, Lehi, Utah with a viewing from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lehi Cemetery, 1525 North 600 East St., Lehi, UT. Richard will be given a military burial ceremony.\n\nCondolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
