Richard "Ryan" Harris Obituary (1984 - 2022)

WATCH LIVE FUNERAL STREAM HERE (11:00 AM MST) Richard "Ryan" Harris, age 37, passed away at home on February 4, 2022 from complications of type 1 diabetes. Born July 23,1984 in Provo, Utah to Richard and Kathleen Rees Harris. He was the youngest of 5 children. Ryan was loved by so many people and made friends quickly everywhere he went. He was a sweet boy and had dimples and a smile that won people over, especially with those blue eyes, blonde hair and dimples. Ryan learned to hunt at an early age with his family and loved it. He loved doing magic tricks, telling jokes and pulling pranks whenever possible. He found it so funny to scare you and make you jump! Ryan had a wicked sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He loved playing video games and was never satisfied until he not only finished, but, collected every star, prize and booster available. He also collected fidget spinners and had many, many different types. He also hand made several. Ryan went to a few different schools over the years starting at Lindon Elementary, then the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a few years then spent a year in Dresden Germany before coming back to the USA and spending time in Portland, Oregon and finally back home to Pleasant Grove, Utah. He graduated in 2003 from A.L.L.C.. A year later, in 2004 Ryan met and married Alison Gledhill. They had one child, Collin. They later divorced. Ryan had a great love for his son. He also loved puzzles and drawing. He had a passion for movies and considered himself a movie connoisseur. He loved to randomly quote lines from movies in conversation just to see if you knew what movie it was from. Ryan had a special bond with his niece Jessica and we would joke that they were really twins from different mothers because they were only 6 weeks apart in age. They grew up more like brother and sister than uncle and niece and he shared that love of movies with her. That bond lasted all their lives. He will be immensely missed by Jessica and his other nieces and nephews, his sisters, his father and his very best friends, Mallory and James. Ryan is survived by his son Collin Harris (Brouse), father Richard Harris, sisters Kimberly (Keven)Morgan, Tiffany (Kyle)Deacon, Amber (Scott)Willis and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard "Travis" Harris and his mother Kathleen Rees Harris Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 11:00 am in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove at with a short viewing from 10:00-10:45 prior to the services.
