FRIEND TO ALL!! - Robert (Bob) Brunt Nixon, 98, of South Jordan returned to his Heavenly Father and beloved wife, Myrene Kemp Nixon on June 28, 2023. Bob died quickly with loving family and friends there to send him off.

Bob was born January 30, 1925 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to John Noall Sr. and Opal Brunt Nixon. He was married for eternity to his beloved Myrene on October 7, 1948 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Bob grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Just before his graduation, Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve as an Ordinance Technician during World War II. Upon completing his enlistment as a Technical Sergeant, Bob returned to Idaho to leave shortly thereafter to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern California Mission. There he met the love of his life, Myrene Kemp. Upon honorably completing his mission, Bob and Myrene were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Bob attended BYU and then started his own appliance store in Idaho Falls.

Over his life, Bob was a salesman, a mineral developer, a real estate developer, and he retired as a stock broker and Vice President for Kidder, Peabody & Company. Bob served in Post 13 of the American Legion presenting Military Honors to deceased veterans, and he also represented the post in Washington D.C. for the dedication of the World War II Memorial.

Bob served in many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life, including as a temple worker at the Provo Temple. Bob and Myrene served on the Temple Square Concert Series Committee, and they served a full-time mission to the New Zealand, Auckland Mission. His sweetheart, Myrene, passed away on February 14, 2000. He was married to Gloria Moser Nixon from December, 2000-2018.

Bob touched many lives not only through his church missions and callings, his professional careers, but also through his charismatic personality and deep empathy for others. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved.

Throughout his life, Bob emulated the love of Christ to everyone. Bob felt his greatest accomplishment was his six children and his many other progenitors.
