Ronald Vern Clark passed away October 10, 2014 after suffering through many difficult health challenges in the past year.\n\nRon was born Oct 18, 1957 in Provo Utah to Vern and Betty Clark. He grew up in Lindon Utah and attended Pleasant Grove High School where he participated in rodeo club. He loved horses and spent many days and nights riding up into the foothills near his home to camp, hunt and fish. He began doing construction work alongside his father when he was about 12 and learned at an early age the value of hard work. He continued to do all types of construction throughout his life and was especially skilled in working with concrete. He gained a reputation for excellence in his work in Utah, southern California and north Texas.\n\nIn 1974 he met and married Annette Haynie and together they had four children; Cory, Valerie, Amanda and Russell. They later divorced and he married Amy Grover and together they had one daughter, Casandra. After he and Amy divorced he married Donna Markham, they were married for 25 years during which time he was a loving Dad to her daughter Krista.\n\nRon loved having fun and being around people, in fact he rarely met a stranger and always had a good story to tell. He loved spending time, especially on vacation with all of his family. Some of his favorite activities included camping, fishing, boating, hunting, golfing and riding his motorcycle. He was always very generous and willing to help out with any project that might need to be done.\n\nHe was lovingly known as "Papa Ron" to his 15 grandchildren Cody Lynn, Natalie, Keoni, Clayton, Madeline, Madison, Kaimana, Bailey Jo, Noah, Christopher, Samuel, Shelby, Mason, Liam and Kynleigh. He always remembered birthdays and you were sure to get a phone call from Papa saying, "Do you know what day it is?" If you visited his house you were sure to find a special kid sized soda in his fridge.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his father Vernon Abraham Clark and older brother John Roland Clark. He is survived by his mother Betty Irene Clark and five sisters, Deann (Jay) Ekstrom, Maryanne Anderson, Karen (Stan) Reidhead, Sheri (Eric) Mattle and Janet (Duane) Weenig. He is also survived by his six children Krista Morrison, Cory Clark, Valerie (Nick) Nordquist, Amanda Clark, Russell (Brittney) Clark and Casandra Hutchinson.\n\nFuneral Services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm in Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 11:30 - 12:45 pm prior to the services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.\n\nCondolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
