Rulon "RJ" Jennings Hone, 77, of Lindon passed away at his home, Sunday, August 3, 2014 of complications from a stroke. He was born April 4, 1937 in Pleasant Grove to Rulon Jennings Hone Sr and Alta Mae Newell Hone. He married Betty Lloyd on June 16, 1961 in Las Vegas. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.\n\nRJ grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1956. He served in the U S Army for two years. He worked for Alpine School District for 35 years.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Betty of Lindon; three children: Jeff Hone, Payson; Curt Hone, Lindon and Lisa (Jeff) Dowling, Spanish Fork; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Lloyd, Alton, David and Geniel Smith. He was preceded in death by his son Robert.\n\nFuneral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Lindon Sixth Ward Chapel, 56 East 600 North, Lindon. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.
