Thomas Peter Hamann, 89, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Tom was born July 1, 1928 in Ida Grove, Iowa to Carl Thomas and Rosa Irene Petersen Hamann. He married Joan Smith on November 10, 1950 in Provo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.\n\nTom grew up in Iowa and graduated from Arthur High School in Ida Grove, Iowa. Tom served in Korea with the U S Army. He and Joan made their home in Pleasant Grove where they raised their five children. Tom was a general contractor and was known by all for his integrity and excellent work. He was a generous man and spent many hours serving others. Tom was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings.\n\nHe is survived by his loving wife Joan of Pleasant Grove; five children: Dennette (Rick) Hopkins, Lehi; Tom (Libbie) Hamann, Pleasant Grove; Paula (Steve) Boren, Pleasant Grove; Cindy (Ralph) Spencer, Lindon and Sandra (Marty) Grange, Spanish Fork; 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and a sister, Goldie Druce, Pleasant Grove.\n\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Battle Creek Seventh Ward Chapel, 1106 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Friday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 am prior to services.
