Thomas M. Malin III passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Tom was born on November 5, 1954, to Thomas M. Malin Jr. and Betty Malin. Tom lived a life full of adventure, kindness and dedication to friends and family.
A devoted father and loyal friend, Tom built a career as a chiropractor but was also a master of many skills. Whether on a pair of skis or with a toolbox in hand, Tom brought confidence and excellence to everything he did. His love for the outdoors defined much of his life, spending winters snow skiing and patrolling at the Canyons and summers waterskiing with friends and family.
Tom had a lifelong passion for cars, especially sports cars. He knew everything about them, from their mechanics to their history, and could often be found sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with friends and family. His appreciation for sleek, powerful machines was only rivaled by his appreciation for the adventures they enabled.
Tom was deeply involved in his children’s lives, coaching their sports teams, and supporting their passions. His generosity extended beyond his family, as he was always willing to lend a hand with projects large and small.
Tom is survived by his father, Thomas Malin Jr.; his brother, Randall Malin; his children, Marie (Mike) Wilkinson, Kyle (Aubri) Bowen, Sam (Lacey) Malin, Erik (Lachel) Bowen, and Jim (Elise) Malin; his 11 grandchildren; Diane Hansen; and his loyal companion, Max. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and his sister, Kathy. Tom also leaves behind countless friends who became family and will carry his memory in their hearts.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his friends and caregivers who provided comfort and support to Tom and his loved ones in his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Talia Event Center, 22 East 200 South, Clearfield, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
