Thomas Kelly O’Neill Obituary (1954

Thomas Kelly O'Neill, 59, of American Fork passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at UVRMC. Kelly was born August 21, 1954 in Provo to Thomas Ivan and Afton Shirlene Thompson O'Neill. On September 8, 1978 he was sealed to his sweetheart Sheila Patterson in the Provo LDS Temple and they were blessed with three sons. Kelly grew up in Orem and graduated from Orem High School in 1972 where he excelled in academics and golf. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in chemical engineering from BYU. He worked many years at Flowserve/Valtek in Springville. Kelly was active member of the LDS Church and served as Branch President while living in Middletown, New York. He is survived by his wife Sheila of American Fork; three sons: Thomas Patrick (Stephanie), Marinette, WI; Sean Kelly (Emily), American Fork; Elder Colin James (currently serving in the Canada Edmonton Mission); and grandchildren; mother, Shirlene O'Neill, Provo; sisters: Kathy (Zene) Weimer, Nucla, CO and Peggy Wright, Orem and many loving extended family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:00 am in the American Fork Hillcrest Second Ward Chapel, 1120 North 150 West, American Fork. Family and friends may visit with family on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the church and again on Thursday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
