Uvonna Evelyn Slater Duvall Obituary (1931

Uvonna Evelyn Slater Duvall, 83 of Pleasant Grove completed her earthly mission Friday, January 16, 2015. She was born in Lehi, Utah on June 27, 1931 to Charles Hyrum Slater and Edith Evelyn Barnes Slater. She married Raymond Duvall on June 9, 1948 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Uvonna grew up in Lehi with her two sisters. She was known for her kind, loving, and compassionate nature. She enjoyed discussing politics and would argue passionately her points of view. She made the best cinnamons rolls around and each year for Christmas the most delicious hand dipped chocolates. She enjoyed sharing them with family, friends and neighbors. She loved the Utah Jazz and looked forward to watching every game. Uvonna was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving her Father in Heaven in several callings. Her greatest passion was doing genealogy and she was able to index approximately 500,000 names. Uvonna is survived by five of her children; Raymond (Bonnie) Duvall, Marlene (Lyle) Walker, Charles Glade (Veronica) Duvall, Kenneth (Brenda) Duvall and Christine Livingston: 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Additional survivors include two sisters, Colleen (Douglas) Calton and Marilyn (Gene) London. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, daughter Marie, granddaughter Brianna, 1 great grandchild, 2 great great grandchildren and half-brother Wayne Charles Nelson. With grateful hearts the family wishes to thank Symbii Home Healthcare, Dr. E.J. Cory and Encompus Home Health and Hospice, Pleasant Grove Fire Department and all family, friends and neighbors who loved and unselfishly served their mother. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grove Creek Second Ward Chapel, 500 North 700 East, Pleasant Grove with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Family and friends may also attend an evening viewing Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 6 - 8 p.m. in Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
